Scrappin' Saturday - Scrumptious Recipe Books

Welcome to Scrappin' Saturday! I hope you've had a fun week with our book-inspired theme. I love to read -- anything from historical fiction to biographies -- so I've enjoyed seeing your book projects.

With the holidays approaching, one book most of us will soon dust off is a recipe book. Did you know you can scrap your own favorite recipes...?! I love this idea as a personalized gift or as a way of passing down family traditions.

I found two super creative ladies who scrap recipes and share their scrumptious pages on their blogs. See what they've been cooking:

Barb features many of her food fare recipes on her blog, but this page is definitely my favorite. She used five (!!!) cartridges to complete this project, as she pieced together the little chef herself from Tags, Bags, Boxes & More and 3 Birds on Parade. Aren't the papers just divine? The textures remind me of a dainty napkin -- one that I want to get soppin' wet with blueberry french toast now.

Kendra made this recipe book filled with her favorite recipes for a swap. I love how she used animal cuts as the dividers between proteins! I'm in complete awe over this book, but I'm afraid it would have to stay safely away from my kitchen for fear something would drop on its beautiful pages. Kendra has complete instructions and a downloadable .cut file on her blog post.

Are you ready to get cookin'? Have you made a recipe book? If so, leave a link in the comments section -- I'd love to come oogle over your recipes and layouts!

Have a happy, scrappy weekend,
Jessica

  2. I love making recipe books. I made one last year which can be found here:

and one just last month. I'm not completely happy with the one I made last month, it feels like it needs more decorations and such. But, until then...

  3. I absolutely LOVE that recipe book! That is fantastic! I have this really cute book my mom bought me ages ago that I put my favorite recipes in, but it has run out of room. That would be so perfect to replace my current book!
