Scrappin' on Saturday

HI everyone, it's Cindy with this week's Scrappin' on Saturday. This week it's all about Easter. I don't know about you but I think that it came really early this year. For some, I think it's still a little cold for the Easter bunny, but he seems to find his way.

Challenge #154 Easter

I saw tons of fun projects in Blogland. Caroline from Card Creations by Caroline, created this positively cute basket. She used quite a few cartridges for this one including Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 for the basket and the cute bunny is from Simply Charmed.

Maria from the Cricut Fanatics blog made an amazing box using the Sweet Tooth boxes cartridge. I have this cartridge and I don't think that I have ever used it, this project is amazing. I had no idea this was on there!

Sherrie from Sherrie Scraps with Passion made this sweet treat favor. She created a pocket envelope and decorated it with the bunny from Create a Critter 2.

I also found quite a few scrapbook layouts which was a relief...I have been struggling to find scrapbooking layouts lately. Anyway, Sami from Scrapmaster's Paradise made a really beautiful layout using the Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Cartridge, Create a Critter and Don Juan.
I found three super fantabulous layouts from Cricut Crazy Scrapper.  She used Create a Critter 2 for all of her cuts on this layout and her paper choice and colors are so vibrant.

For her second layout, she used Mickey Font, Doodlecharms and Stretch your Imagination.
She also submitted a layout for this week's challenge using Kate's ABC's and Baby Steps.

Thanks for visiting. I hope that you feel inspired to do Scrappin'!

Thursday Tutorial - Fabric Flower

Hello! Rachel here again from Cricut with Heart to share another Thursday Tutorial with you.  Thanks for the nice comments on my post from last week!  I hope you had fun making some shaped cards :)

Today, I wanted to share how I made a fabric flower for some cards I made a while back.  I wanted some dimension, but not too much since I still wanted the card to fit in the envelope.  Here is how it turned out.
To make this flower, I cut out 4 circles at 1 1/2" from both black tulle, and fabric.  Layer a circle of tulle with a circle of fabric and fold it in half. Then fold it in half again to form a triangle shape.  Make another triangle shape with fabric and tulle and place two of these triangles onto half of a 1" circle base.  Staple these to the base. I used the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher.
Repeat these steps with the other two pieces on the other side of the base circle.
I used some Liquid Glass in the center to add my clear acrylic flower embellishment.
Then I inked the edges, and I was done!
I hope you'll enjoy making these easy No-Sew Fabric Flowers!

Happy Crafting!

Quick Tip Tuesday

Hello again, it's Angie from Angie's Paper Passion with another Quick Tip Tuesday! This tip is one that I use all of the time because it saves me time, my sanity, and, most importantly, MY PAPER!
It's a paper cutting guide from Above Rubies Studio

This is a wonderful site that is run by the incredible Megan Elizabeth. She has so many great posts and videos on there but her cutting guide is the best. I'm sure you recognize this scenario - you press CUT on your Cricut, and as the blade starts cutting, your paper starts shredding! Well, after you start using the ARS cutting guide, that will be a thing of the past! It has over 500 cut settings on many of the most popular cardstock and paper companies, fabrics, and other materials. Before I make any cut on my Cricut, I first look up the brand and type of material that I'm going to cut in the cutting guide and it will let me know which settings to use on my machine such as Blade Depth and Pressure.
Now I don't waste as much paper as I use to!

You can buy a copy from Megan's website at Above Rubies Studio or do what I did and download a version right to your desktop for FREE! She even has an App for the cutting guide available for the iPhone and iPad in the iTunes Store, and for Android users.
I also have the App on my phone so no matter where I am - a crop or retreat - I can always find the correct settings before I start cutting with my Cricut!

I hope this tip will help you save all of that valuable paper in your stash, too!
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to come back tomorrow for our Wednesday's Winners!
